Their sense of optimism coupled with determination and the drive to get things done produces beautiful, quality products that reset the standard for those around them - and Ben Coats does just that.

Ben is a second generation builder with over 18 years of experience building luxury custom homes. With a BBA in Finance from Southern Methodist University, he was able to couple his love of fine architecture with business knowledge and thus, Coats Homes was born.

Ben, his wife, Jennifer, and their five children reside in Dallas, TX.

Greg Crooks brings 15 years of experience in finance and operational leadership to the Coats Homes team. Serving as a Partner, Greg oversees all current operations as well as any new business endeavors. Directly prior to joining our team, Greg spent 8 years as Executive Pastor and Head of Operations at one of the largest and fastest-growing churches in the country. Prior to that, he held various finance and private equity positions at JP Morgan, Hawkeye Partners (Hillwood) and TRT Holdings. Greg has a finance degree from SMU and resides in Dallas with his wife Alicia and three children.

Justin serves as Partner and leader of the Austin market. Justin joined Coats Homes in 2018 as a Project Manager, where he completed multiple luxury custom homes and oversaw the build of the Dallas Hunting & Fishing Club. At Coats Homes, Justin brings his passion for building and attention to detail to every project. He leads by example, inspiring our team to deliver exceptional results for our clients. When he's not working, Justin enjoys spending time with his wife Katherine and their two children, Sophia and Samuel. He's also an active member of his church and volunteers at his kids' school.

Joy joined Coats Homes as the Director of Business Development with more than a decade of experience in developing and serving client relationships. Prior to joining our team, Joy spent 13 years at Goldman Sachs in their Dallas and Chicago offices in a variety of financial advisory, business development, and leadership roles. Joy holds a degree in economics from the University of Notre Dame and actively serves on the boards of the Catholic Campus Ministry at SMU and Capital for Kids. Joy lives in Dallas with her husband David and two sons. When not serving clients at Coats Homes, you can find Joy and the Godvins at Banditos, exploring new donut shops, and playground hopping across the Park Cities.

Trevor joins Coats Homes as the Director of Superintendents with over 14 years of experience. He graduated from Texas Tech University with a degree in Construction Engineering Technology. He is reliable, a great problem solver, and an excellent craftsman. In his free time, you can catch Trevor woodworking with his son.

Before joining Coats Homes, Libby graduated from Baylor University with a degree in Entertainment Marketing. She went on to serve as an account manager for collegiate and pro sports clients executing on design/build projects that turned normal spaces into an unforgettable experience for fans. Libby is highly skilled in critical problem solving, interpersonal communication, and is great at just “rolling with the punches”. Her experience makes her a valuable project manager for our team. Libby is originally from Nashville, Tennessee and enjoys spending time with her husband and pup named Bobbie.

Cameron joined the Coats Homes team as the Director of Service in June 2023. His previous experience includes working for another premier custom home builder in the Dallas area, as well as several years serving as a project manager for a national lighting and electrical contractor. He’s passionate about serving others with excellence, and has a knack for cultivating meaningful relationships with clients and coworkers.

Cameron is a Dallas native and graduate of the Texas A&M class of 2012, which means he’s been disappointed by sports teams his entire life. He’s an active supporter of Young Life, involved in his church, and enjoys running at White Rock Lake. Cameron and his wife live in Lake Highlands with their four young children.

His strengths include organization, catching the little things, relationship building, and team development. He enjoys spending time outside with his wife and three young children.

After Ellie graduated from Baylor University with a degree in Interior Design, she embarked on the high end residential home building world for the next ten years. From ground up new builds to design consultation on speculative builds, she has handled every facet of the construction and design process. Prior to working at Coats Homes, Ellie worked for another premier builder in the Park Cities and an interior design firm. She lives in the Lake Highlands neighborhood with her husband and three children.

When she’s not working, Gia enjoys hiking and hanging out with her husband, Jeremy, at their local brewery he founded, The Manhattan Project.

Joni studied fashion merchandising and dance at Henderson State University and feels she has finally found her career passion in homebuilding. She enjoys spending her spare time with family, traveling, reading books, and volunteering with her standard poodle, Theo.

As a passionate people person, Morgun loves his chosen career path and the interaction it brings with clients, vendors, and colleagues. His wife Sarah and their dog Harvey bring much joy to his life and in his free time, he enjoys bow hunting and spending time outdoors.

Nic joins Coats Homes with a background in both homebuilding and commercial construction. He has worked as a construction manager for both production and high-end custom homes, and he most recently worked for a Commercial GC building out amenities centers, office finish-outs, and City Infrastructure. This unique perspective makes him an incredible asset for us. Nic is committed to excellence in every area, from working with the team and client to finish out of the job. He’s a hard worker and maintains a growth mindset in everything he does. In his free time, Nic loves to read, find good food & spend time with his wife, Traci and 3 wild boys, Deacon, Peyton and Greyson. Oh, and don’t forget about his bestie…his Rhodesian Ridgeback, Gunnar.

Paul brings over 25 years of experience in residential and commercial construction to Coats Homes. His passion for home building began at an early age, framing homes during the summer months. His diverse background in the building industry includes warranty and customer service management, building, project management, multi-family housing, new construction sales, and he holds a LEED AP certification by the U.S. Green Building Council. His attention to detail, effective communication, and organizational skills are instrumental to his leadership. Paul holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management from The University of Oklahoma.

Tim joined Coats Homes with over 10 Years of experience in the Custom Home Building Industry. Originally from Houston TX, Tim has a passion for high-end, luxury custom home building. He loves the team atmosphere of Coats Homes as well as the challenge that comes with the extreme detail of the architectural and masterful designs of custom homes. Tim graduated from Texas A&M with a bachelor’s degree in Leadership and Development and minor in Business. While not at work, he enjoys spending time with his three girls- wife Hayley, daughter Georgia, and dog Rosie. If they aren’t at home, you will find them on the lake, with family in Houston, or searching for a new restaurant to try in Austin!

Originally from Harlan, Kentucky, Medley moved to Dallas to attend Southern Methodist University where she obtained a degree in Corporation Communications and Public Affairs. After graduating, Medley got her Real Estate license and later went on to work for a Real Estate Developer where she focused on asset management for single-family residential properties. Her previous work experience, attention to detail and organization make her a great fit with the Coats Homes Team. In her free time, Medley enjoys spending time with her husband and two young boys.

Alec Ashley began as a project management intern with Coats Homes back in 2015 and went on to be a successful residential construction manager in San Antonio. Alec came back to Coats Homes at the start of 2020 as a Superintendent and we are so excited to welcome him back to the team as a full-time employee. In addition to his experience in residential construction, Alec has a BBA in Finance and Management from Baylor University and brings dependability, attention to detail, and outstanding organization to our team.

Andrew is a native Texan, born and raised in Dallas. He joins the Coats Homes team with 5 years of building experience as a single-family home builder, as well as a custom home builder here in the Dallas / Park Cities area. Early in his career, Andrew worked in IT as a Unix System Administrator for an international telecommunications company, where he built home directories and file systems. He studied at SMU School of Engineering & Applied Sciences, and later he earned his BS in Information Systems at the Legacy Plano campus. Most weekends Andrew spends time with his wife, his two rescue puppies, and his extended family. He also enjoys working on home improvement projects around the house and watching the Dallas Cowboys and Formula 1.

Brandon is a born and raised East Dallas native. He attended Southwest Texas State where he studied communications. After college, he decided to follow in his father and grandfather's footsteps to serve in the Air Force. Upon his return he developed a passion and talent for damage restoration. Putting his talent to use, Brandon has rebuilt properties that have been affected by fire, water, mold, and structural failure over the last 10 years. He holds certifications in fire, smoke, water damage with an emphasis on odor control. When he is not at work, you can find him making furniture in his workshop or camping with his wife and two sons.

Case Whitfield is a leader and master plumber who helps general contractors and developers build great projects. He spent the last six years as COO running an underground utility business and most recently running a company specializing in plumbing on high end custom homes. He is skilled in guiding a project from estimating all the way to the finish line. Case is an asset to our team as he knows how to problem solve and deliver a top-notch product to the customer. Case enjoys hunting, boating, and being with his family.

Casey graduated from Texas State University, and owned his own remodeling business before joining the Coats Team. Outside of work, Casey loves woodworking, camping, and spending time with his wife and daughter.

David is originally from Dallas and graduated from Texas Tech University. His former experience in drilling water wells launched him into the construction industry when he moved back home. He grew his passion and expertise by working on remodels in the Park Cities prior to joining our team. David loves the personal relationships built through construction and real time problem-solving. He is a die hard Dallas sports fan that loves hunting and spending time outdoors in his free time.

Ian joins Coats Homes with over a decade in the high-end custom home building industry. Ian graduated from the University of Michigan were he received a degree in Architecture. Ian has spent most of his career building high end luxury homes in Telluride, Colorado as a project manager and superintendent. His diverse background in all aspects of the home building process has given him a wide range of skills to utilize on his projects. Ian's passion for good design and thoughtfully constructed homes is why he is a great fit for Coats Homes. When he is not working, he enjoys all things outdoors and traveling back to the mountains with his fiancee.

Jon brings over 30 years of construction experience to the Coats Homes team. He is a quality-focused, integrity-driven, safety-conscience experienced construction Superintendent with proven skills in building trusted partnerships with clients, owners, subcontractors, vendors, and design teams. He is detail-oriented, dependable, and dedicated to each project. Before joining our team, Jon worked on many projects ranging from high-end custom homes to large commercial projects. Jon has a love of music and plays many instruments. When he’s not working, he enjoys time with family, traveling, and taking motorcycle rides.

Originally from Dallas, Michael has found himself in construction of some type for over 20 years. With his passion rooted in all things wood, he has gained his experience from trim carpentry, home renovations, custom wood door fabrication, hand made furniture design and build, and exotic live edge table fabrication. All of these experiences combined make Michael a valuable, multifaceted member of our team. In his free time, Michael enjoys camping, fishing, and spoon carving.

Taylor joins the Coats Homes team with 7 years of experience in the home building industry. Taylor grew up in the Dallas area before attending Texas Tech where he graduated with a BBA in Business Management. In his free time, Taylor enjoy sports and all things outdoors including hiking, fishing, and skiing as well as spending time with friends and family.

Pedro has been in the home building industry holding various roles since 2002. He is a craftsman and detail minded person with lofty standards and ethics in life and in business. His artisanship and hard-working energy make him an asset to the Coats Homes team. Outside of work, Pedro's faith, family, and community are his core passions.

Allison’s past experience in construction management, coupled with her passion for design, allow her to take a comprehensive approach when collaborating with clients on the design and feel of their home. Her goal is to assist clients in accomplishing an interior design plan that is not only inviting and reflective of the owner’s personality, but extremely functional as well. Allison holds a Bachelor of Environmental Design, with a focus in Construction Management, from Texas A&M University.

Naina joins the Coats Homes team with one of the most unique backgrounds yet. Naina previously built her own custom home with us that finished in 2020. During the process, she unveiled her passion and talent for homes and design. Today, she joins the team as a Project Manager. Naina holds a Master of Science in Accounting from SMU and has experience in a variety of roles including accounting, product development, and marketing for one of our suppliers. Naina enjoys traveling and trying new restaurants with her husband, daughter, and twin boys.

Before Coats Homes, Kristina earned a degree from Texas Christian University and went on to build years of experience in business development and interior design. She has a passion for working with people and designing their dream homes custom to their lifestyle. Her goal is to create designs that are just as functional as they are beautiful. Her eye for design, communication skills and driven mindset motivates her to create curated designs and lasting relationships. When she is not working, Kristina loves trying new restaurants, exercising, and reading.

A native Texan, Katie earned her degree from Southern Methodist University. She worked for a high-end residential interior design firm before following her love for design to New York City where she studied Interiors at New York School of Interior Design. She finds joy in balance and in being able to meaningfully connect people and their spaces. Katie enjoys exploring the contemporary, while respecting tradition to make credible contributions to each project. She thrives on improvement and sees potential for extraordinary work around every corner. Katie enjoys spending time with her family and trying out new recipes.

Kate joined Coats Homes as a Marking Coordinator. Combining her experience in journalism, advertising, and event planning, Kate contributes to the design, creation, and supervision of all marketing endeavors, including multi-platform campaigns, advertising initiatives, special events, and brand management. She graduated from Southern Methodist University with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and a minor in Advertising. During her leisure hours, she indulges in the pursuits of tennis, golf, culinary arts, and painting.

As the daughter of a custom home builder and interior designer, Kelsey is passionate about the homebuilding industry and loves being able to combine it with her marketing experience to further the Coats Homes brand. In her free time she enjoys playing tennis and mahjong and spending time with her husband and 2 children.

Originally from Kerrville, Texas, Kayo and her family recently moved from Dallas to Austin in 2022. She was also a part of the Coats Homes Dallas team not long ago. Having a passion for people, Kayo started her career as an oral surgery assistant. Her passion for movement and health led her to then also become a certified yoga instructor in 2015. Her passions include Jesus, her family, friends, and fitness. In her free time, she enjoys being by the water, meeting new people, creatively expressing herself through DIY projects as found on Pinterest and gardening. Kayo has a huge heart and is passionate, energetic, and loyal.

Originally from Salt Lake City, Katy comes to Coats Homes as a member of our accounting team. She earned her BA in Finance from Utah State University and holds her MBA from Weber State University. Katy brings with her 10 years of experience in business planning and analysis from the Boeing Company as well as 2 years in accounting from the San Angelo Performing Arts Center in West Texas. Katy’s time is spent keeping up with her busy family as well as being an avid reader.
