At Coats Homes, we believe a home should be personal. It should inspire you. It should be uniquely yours. We are honored to serve the Park Cities and Preston Hollow neighborhoods as a custom home builder. Originating as a partnership with a 50-year-old home building company, Coats Homes has evolved into a full service team of professionals able to meet all your design and home building needs. With a passionate emphasis on timeless architecture, craftsmanship, and personal style - we are committed to building a home that is perfect for you. The end goal is not just building a home, it’s living in it.
A skilled craftsman cannot do anything in life without evaluating his craft—how to make it better and how to do it differently–and that is how Ben Coats approaches building luxury homes. A second generation builder with more than a decade of experience building homes in the Dallas-area, a BBA in Finance from Southern Methodist University, and an appreciation of fine architecture all combined to create Coats Homes. Coats Homes provides clients a white-glove building experience where service and exceptional craftsmanship are most valued. Under Ben’s leadership, Coats Homes has received “The Dallas 100” award and has consecutively been named one of the Best Builders in Dallas by D Magazine. Coats Homes projects have been featured in D Magazine, luxe interiors + design, Dallas Modern Luxury, The Scout Guide, and D Home. Ben has built his own home and family right here in Dallas. His wife Jennifer, his five children, and his passion for home building are the reasons he works so hard for you.

Volume 8 of The Scout Guide is giving readers a sneak peak into an unreleased project.
Coats Homes has partnered with neighborhood resident, Brett Johnston with Suntxurbana, to present an unparalleled 8-lot opportunity in northeast Preston Hollow. The development of eight residential lots is located off Wander Lane in Hillcrest Estates, home to some of Dallas’s most impressive acre+ properties.
Aptly named Wander Wood, this lush 8.85-acre oasis is populated by thriving Oak, Elm, Cedar, and Ash trees. Eight fortunate owners will have the opportunity to call this beautiful haven home; seven of the lots will enjoy backyards set against a stunning creek backdrop.
By extending this already sought-after street, the developer aims to further accentuate the creek and mature foliage throughout while continuing to maintain and enhance the privacy and exclusiveness of the community. Pre-development lot pricing from $1.125m. Contact the Wander Wood team at 214-206-3919 or wander@wander-wood.com for more information.
On June 8th Coats Homes partnered with two organizations, Act Dallas and 2ndSaturday.org to tear down a home that was a hot bed for criminal activity in West Dallas. To learn more about the project and our One-for-One Philosophy, click here.
This 8.85-acre oasis will be divided into 8 lots and developed as an extension of Wander Lane in northeast Preston Hollow. Contact the Wander Wood team at 214-206-3919 or wander@wander-wood.com for more information.
