What do you do when you have an entirely blank wall the size of a movie screen and nothing to put on it? You have a custom painted mural commissioned of course! Artist, Carolyn Daniel, joined us for another episode of our Coats Homes video series in which she and Ben discuss the inspiration behind the show stopping mural titled, “Count Your Blessings”, in his home. The mural consists of tally marks in counts of five, representing abundance and the Lord’s faithfulness to the Coats Family. All of the tallies are in groups of five except for the last set, which only has two. The two tally marks leave room for future blessings. Also notable, is the hallway that this mural lies in. It is placed in the hallway that leads to the master wing of the home, making it the first thing Ben and his wife, Jen, see when they get up in the morning and the last thing they see before going to bed. A constant reminder of their blessings. This simple, but meaningful work of art is the perfect example of using art to tell your story and what is important to your family.
